Helping to Ensure Laredo’s Prosperity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2016 with the mission of providing free financial education and guidance to the Laredo, Texas community, promoting financial literacy and self-sufficiency.

Free Financial Guidance

We provide free financial counseling and educational workshops to help individuals and families strengthen their financial well-being.

We operate programs such as VITA and the Financial Education Program to assist individuals with tax preparation and financial planning.

Certifications

We are proud to maintain multiple certifications that ensure the quality and effectiveness of our programs, allowing our volunteers and staff to provide accurate, reliable financial assistance to the community.

Basic VITA

This certification provides the foundational knowledge required to prepare basic individual tax returns and identify common tax credits.

Advanced VITA

This certification focuses on more complex tax return preparation. Volunteers develop advanced skills to handle more challenging tax situations.

International VITA

Specialized certification covering tax regulations for international taxpayers. Volunteers learn how to assist individuals with tax situations involving income or residency outside the United States.

Military VITA

Certification focused on tax issues specific to military personnel and their families, including military tax benefits and deductions.

Circular 230 Professionals, Advanced

Advanced certification covering IRS Circular 230 regulations and procedures. Volunteers gain in-depth knowledge of taxpayer representation, ethics, and professional standards.
